Omission of the  mark in FE (→GE1,EE) and the  mark in EE is probably a result of the engravers' oversights. The pedal release asterisk was added – according to the harmonic sense – in GE2 (→GE3GE4).

Lack of the  mark in FE (→GE,EE) is probably a result of the engraver's oversight. In the main text we consider the mark written by Chopin in A and suggest an explanation, specifying its meaning in this context.

According to us, both slurs written in A are too short. Their absence in the editions is probably a result of an oversight of the engraver of FE (it cannot be excluded that he omitted them, not being certain of their range).
