Pedalling

b. 42-43

composition: Op. 10 No 10, Etude in A♭ major

No pedalling in A

 in FE (→GE1)

  in GE2 (→GE3GE4) & EE

Our suggestion

..

Lack of the pedal release mark depressed in the middle of bar 42 must be considered as the notation's inaccuracy in this context. The  mark was added in EE and GE2 (→GE3GE4) at the end of bar 42, which is undoubtedly justified with similar indications in the previous bars. We suggest a completion after the notation of A at the beginning of bar 44.

b. 49

composition: Op. 10 No 10, Etude in A♭ major

No sign in A

 in FE (→GE,EE)

..

In A the pedalling ends on the  mark at the beginning of this bar. The  mark added in FE (→GE,EE) is probably a result of Chopin's proofreading.

b. 54

composition: Op. 10 No 10, Etude in A♭ major

  in A & GE2 (→GE3GE4)

 in FE (→GE1

No markings in EE

..

Omission of the  mark in FE (→GE1,EE) and the  mark in EE is probably a result of the engravers' oversights. The pedal release asterisk was added – according to the harmonic sense – in GE2 (→GE3GE4).

b. 56

composition: Op. 10 No 10, Etude in A♭ major

 in A

No markings in FE (→GE,EE)

Our suggestion

..

Lack of the  mark in FE (→GE,EE) is probably a result of the engraver's oversight. In the main text we consider the mark written by Chopin in A and suggest an explanation, specifying its meaning in this context.
