b. 33-44
|
composition: Op. 24 No. 1, Mazurka in G minor
..
In the main text, we give the unequivocal notation of A – 8 long accents in bars 33-36 and 41-44. In GE1 (→FE→EE) the accent in bar 42 was omitted, which was corrected in GE2 (→GE3). In the two last-mentioned editions and also in FE some accents were reproduced as short ones, and EE has short accents only. All those changes result from difficulties in interpreting accent signs of varying length. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Long accents , Inaccuracies in GE , Inaccuracies in FE , GE revisions , EE inaccuracies |

b. 34-35
|
composition: Op. 24 No. 1, Mazurka in G minor
..
The curved lines under the thirds a flat1-c2 in bars 34-35 and 43-44 are phrase marks in A, not ties for a flat1. This is less obvious in the notation of GE1, and even less so in FE and GE2 (→GE3). The notation of EE clearly suggests ties. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in GE , EE inaccuracies |

In EE, the accent on the 2nd beat of the bar was omitted, probably inadvertently. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE inaccuracies |

The hairpins in A are visibly longer than those in GE (→FE→EE). Their exact extent is different in each edition. The shortest sign - that in EE – practically resembles an inverted accent. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in GE , Inaccuracies in FE , EE inaccuracies |

The thirds on the 1st beat are two-part in GE1 (→FE), which is definitely a mistake. The two-part notation - in the distorted or adjusted form - is also present in EE. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in GE , EE inaccuracies |
