A possible short accent in A (→GEFEEE)

A possible long accent in A

The accent in A is clearly larger than the neighbouring accents on the 3rd beat in bars 55-56, yet the shape of it is more akin to Chopin's short accents. The comparison with analogous bars 8 and 16 gives us no grounds to consider any of the two versions more probable than the other.
