Issues : Errors repeated in GE
b. 113-115
|
composition: Op. 38, Ballade in F major
..
In both A and GC bar 114 starts a new line. The slurs in A unequivocally mean a continuous slur, however, the notation in GC is ambiguous – the beginning of slur in bar 114 suggests continuation from the previous bar but the slur in bar 113 ends on the last quaver (this inaccurate notation is meticulously reproduced in GE). We assume this to denote separate slurs. In the main text we give the notation of A (→FE,EE) which does not rise doubts. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in GC , Uncertain slur continuation , Errors repeated in GE |

composition: Op. 38, Ballade in F major

In A (→EE,GC→GE1), the first note in the R.H. lower part mistakenly has the value of a minim. The error was rectified in FE and GE2(→GE3). category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: GE revisions , Rhythmic errors , FE revisions , Errors repeated in GE , Errors repeated in EE |

b. 129-130
|
composition: Op. 38, Ballade in F major
..
The version of EE may be an ordinary oversight of the dot and the tie prolonging the c crotchet, although a revision cannot be excluded, e.g. omission of the tie due to the missing dot. GC (→GE) is also lacking the dot, which is a patent mistake in the face of the tie. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Errors in EE , GE revisions , Errors of GC , Errors repeated in GE |

b. 130-131
|
composition: Op. 38, Ballade in F major
..
The EE version results most probably from an oversight of the tie extending the minim c. GC (→GE1) overlooked the dot extending this note what was corrected in GE2 (→GE3). category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Errors in EE , GE revisions , Errors of GC , Errors repeated in GE |

There are no naturlas restoring d1-d2 on the last semiquaver in the R.H. It is a patent inadvertence of Chopin's. category imprint: Interpretations within context issues: Omissions to cancel alteration , Errors of A , Errors repeated in GE , Errors repeated in FE , Errors repeated in EE |
