Issues : Terzverschreibung error
b. 91

composition: Op. 42, Waltz in A♭ major
..
In GE2 (→GE3), at the beginning of the bar, the e-b fifth was arbitrarily changed to a g-b third, most probably following the analogy with bar 95. According to us, there is no reason to suspect a Terzverschreibung in bar 91, as the use of varied two-note chords is justified with a different harmonic situation in bars 90-91 and 94-95. Cf. bar 103. category imprint: Corrections & alterations issues: Terzverschreibung error , GE revisions |

Instead of the e1-b1 fifth, EE has here a g1-b1 third, which is probably a mistake. A possible Chopin correction of the base text to EE is, according to us, much less likely. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Errors in EE , Terzverschreibung error |

On the 4th quaver GE1 has an erroneous g3. This typical Terzverschreibung of the engraver was already corrected in GE2 (→GE3). category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in GE , Terzverschreibung error |

At the beginning of the bar FE (→FEG→GE1,EE) has a c2, which is most probably a characteristic error of the engraver (the so-called Terzverschreibung). In analogous bar 24 in all sources there is an a1 note. A respective correction was introduced in GE2 (→GE3). category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE , Terzverschreibung error , GE revisions |
