In AI the notation of the part of the R.H. is unclear in this bar. Chopin certainly performed corrections in it, yet it is unclear, which version is the last one. According to us, it is most natural to assume that Chopin strived for the version which he then eventually deemed as the best, while the remaining ones – written out with notes – are earlier:
and . Therefore, it is the sign defining this bar as repetition of the previous one that we consider to be written as the last one. See also the note on abbreviations in the L.H.

b-b-a-a in AI

a-a-b-b in A (→FEGE,EE)

..

The change of top notes of the bottom voice of the R.H. from b-a in AI to a-in A must be considered as final. Chopin did not change anything in this place, despite the fact that in a proofreading of FE he must have introduced various corrections and additions in this bar – he added poco rall., as well as changed something in the 2nd half of the bar on the top stave, where one can see traces of corrections concerning note heads.

FE (→GE1) has an as the 1st note of the bottom voice in the R.H. instead of a b. This patent error was corrected in FES, as well as in EE and in the subsequent GE (in GE1a in a simplified manner – by removing the ledger line without moving the note head).
