Issues : Cautionary accidentals
b. 3-4
|
composition: Op. 10 No 6, Etude in E♭ minor
..
Bar 3 in A (→FE→GE1→GE2→GE3) repeats the from the 1st half of the bar before g in the 2nd half of it. The before f in the 2nd half of bar 4 is similarly repeated. The unnecessary signs were removed in GE4 (→GE5). In analogous bars 11-12 and 43-44 the signs do not appear in any of the sources. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Cautionary accidentals |

b. 12

composition: Op. 10 No 6, Etude in E♭ minor

In this context the missing before d must be considered as Chopin's oversight (in the remaining two analogous bars the sign is both in A and the remaining sources). category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , GE revisions , Cautionary accidentals |

b. 34
|
composition: Op. 10 No 6, Etude in E♭ minor
..
Chopin changed the original version (written in A) while proofreading FE (→GE1→GE2, →EE2→EE3). At the time of proofreading, the unnecessary before e1 in the 2nd half of the bar was left. This may have incited the reviser of GE3 (→GE4→GE5) to change e1 to e1 in the chord at the beginning of the bar (this totally arbitrary version was also repeated in EE4). category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: EE revisions , GE revisions , Cautionary accidentals , Authentic corrections of FE |

b. 35
|
composition: Op. 10 No 6, Etude in E♭ minor
..
A includes two unjustified naturals (cautionary?) before d1 and f1 before the chord in the middle of the bar. In a proofreading of FE (→GE,EE) the bottom accidental was removed. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Cautionary accidentals |

b. 36
|
composition: Op. 10 No 6, Etude in E♭ minor
..
A has a cautionary before a1 and not before d1. The accidental before d1, which is more justified, was added in the last proofreading of FE (→EE), as well as in GE2 and subsequent GE,s. In the main text we omit the first of the aforementioned accidentals. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Cautionary accidentals , Authentic corrections of FE |
