b. 27-28

composition: Op. 10 No 12, Etude in C minor

Fingering in A

Fingering in FE (→GE)

Fingering in EE

Our variant suggestion

..

Bar 27 is one of two bars in which the fingering is already included in A. It was repeated and completed in FE (→GE,EE), yet with one exception – the last digit in A is written under the penultimate note and in the editions – under the last one. According to us, the engraver's error is a more possible explanation than Chopin's correction. Therefore, in the main text we consider both possibilities, however, we give preference to the undoubtedly authentic version of A.
In EE one digit was added.

No fingering in A

Fingering in FE (→GE

Fingering in EE

In the main text we give the undoubtedly authentic fingering of FE (→GE). Fontana completed it in EE in bar 32 after bar 28.

composition: Op. 10 No 12, Etude in C minor

..

In A (→FE) there is no  before the 2nd note on the 3rd beat in the bar (f) nor a  before the 2nd note on the 4th beat (a), which was corrected in GE. In EE the missing accidentals were gradually added:  in EE3 in EE4.

In GE1 the  before the 1st note in the L.H. (F1) was omitted.

b. 31

composition: Op. 10 No 12, Etude in C minor

..

A has an unnecessary  before cbefore the chord on the 4th beat in the bar, yet it does not have the necessary  raising f1 to f1. In FE the chord was left without any accidental, which was corrected in EE3. The additions were also performed in GE1 (→GE2), in which the accidentals are placed before each note. In GE3 (→GE4) three upper accidentals were removed, therefore, also the necessary  before f1. An unnecessary revision was also performed in EE4, adding a  before c2

b. 32

composition: Op. 10 No 12, Etude in C minor

In A (→FE) there is no  raising to G. The mistake was corrected in GE and EE. At the end of the bar in GE3 (→GE4) the  before the lower note of the octave in the R.H. was omitted.
