We give Chopin's dynamic indications in bars 42 and 48 in the main text on the basis of FE. In the remaining editions they were recreated in a slightly changed form (except for EE2, in which cresc. in bar 42 was omitted). category imprint: Differences between sources issues: GE revisions , EE inaccuracies |

The stem of the 2nd minim in the L.H. in FE reaches only the upper note, G, which results in the fact that the lower one, G1, seems as if it was a semibreve. In GE and EE the error was corrected. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Errors in FE , GE revisions |

FE (→GE1→GE2) has d3 as the last semiquaver. The mistake is revealed by corrections in all three pupils' copies. The note was changed to e3 also in EE and subsequent GE,s. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Annotations in teaching copies , EE revisions , Errors in FE , Annotations in FED , GE revisions , Annotations in FES , Annotations in FEJ |

The sources differ when it comes to the notation of rests at the end of these bars. The natural notation of CLI, in which the part of the R.H. ends with a rest, however, was not repeated in FE (→EE2→EE3). As it is not certain whether omitting the rests was done on purpose by Chopin, in the main text we propose rests in brackets as a variant solution. After all, the difference has a rather ideological than practical character. In the remaining editions the rests are present, which is most probably a result of revisers' actions. In EE4 and GE3 both rests are in bar 45, which is most probably a mistake. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Errors in EE , Errors in GE , GE revisions |

The d note in GE is a result of overlapping the mistake of FE1 and revision of GE: the erroneous d note adopted from FE1 (without any accidental) was completed with a by the reviser of GE, who above all was concentrated on completing the missing accidentals, therefore, it was adjusted to the B7 chord. In a proofreading of FE2 Chopin changed d into B, restoring the version which – as shown by CLI – was the only intended one from the very beginning. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Terzverschreibung error , GE revisions , Authentic corrections of FE |
