In CLI there are no naturals returning c2 and e2, nor the sharp raising g1 to g1. The second of these mistakes – lack of the before e2 – remained unnoticed also in FEcor. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE , Authentic corrections of FE , Errors of CLI |

The e1 note, featured next to c1 in the lower voice both in CLI and Ap, was deleted by Chopin in FEcor. The simultaneously added fingering – the 2nd finger on a1 – already considers this change and cannot be applied to the original version (most probably Chopin would use the 5th finger in that situation). category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations |

In CLI the copyist wrote f1 as the lower note on the 2nd beat of bar 45, whereas in bar 46 – f2. In both places one can also see added notes: d1 in bar 45 and d2 in bar 46, which certainly proves a correction (in bar 46 even a delicate deletion of f2 is visible). category imprint: Corrections & alterations |

The difference in the notation of the crescendo hint in FEcor and FE (→GE,EE) is puzzling. According to us, Chopin's entry in FEcor was not performed by the engraver (it was totally omitted or – more likely – only partially considered, without the dashes limiting its range), so in the next proofreading Chopin wrote the indication again, this time divided into syllables (cf. bar 42). The interpretation of the entry in Ap is also not entirely clear. We assume that it was about leading it until in bar 47. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Authentic corrections of FE |

In CLI there are no naturals returning a1 and d2 in bar 45 and a2 and d3 in bar 46. These patent errors were corrected by Chopin in FEcor. The accidentals – apart from the first one – were overlooked in EE2. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Errors in EE , Authentic corrections of FE , Errors of CLI |
