Crotchet in CLIFE (→GE,EE

Quaver in Ap

One could wonder whether the value of a quaver for the e-eoctave in Ap was a result of pianistic (a bigger lap of the L.H. than in the next bar) or structural (a new element of the progression) circumstances or whether Chopin wanted to suggest the performer a certain articulation and expressive detail in this way. In any case, his motivation at the time of writing Ap was not considered in preparations of the piece for publication. In the main text we give the octave as a crotchet, in accordance with FE (→GE,EE).
