Lack of pedal marks in FE (→EE1) may be an omission of the engraver of FE1 or of Chopin himself in [A1]. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Errors in FE |

The flats lowering d1-d2 to d1-d2 is an error of the engraver of FE1 (→FE2,EE). It is proven by the version of GE and Chopin's hand-written correction in FEJ. The correct text was also introduced into EE2. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Annotations in teaching copies , EE revisions , Errors in FE , Annotations in FEJ |

In FE1 (→EE), despite the transition to a new page, the slur in bar 62 is a continuation of the slur in bar 61. However, in FE2 the slurs are separated, which is certainly a mistake. GE has a continuous slur. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE |

In the main text we adopt the more precise indication of FE1 (→EE). The partially lacking dashes indicating the scope of crescendo in FE2 is certainly a result of the engraver's negligence. It is possible that their total absence in GE is also an error (cf. the remark concerning bars 55-58). According to us, both the earlier placement of crescendo in GE and the placement of the indication above the upper stave in FE (→EE) may have resulted from the lack of space between the staves. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE |
