b. 36

composition: Op. 45, Prelude in C♯ minor

 in FE (→EE)

 in GE

..

Considering the presence of  in bar 35, one can suspect here an error of GE. Therefore, in the main text we give  of FE (→EE).

b. 55-58

composition: Op. 45, Prelude in C♯ minor

cresc. - - - in FE

cresc. in GE

cre - scen - do in EE

..

In the main text we give the indication cresc. after the more accurate notation of FE. Dividing the indication into syllables is a characteristic manner of Wessel's editions.

b. 60

composition: Op. 45, Prelude in C♯ minor

dim. in FE (→EE)

dimin. in GE

Our suggestion

..

We give the indication dim. after GE, which is probably based on the later autograph. The abbreviation dimin., used in GE, was probably generally used by this editor; therefore, we replace it with dim., an abbreviation which is commonly applied nowadays and more frequently used by Chopin.

b. 63-66

composition: Op. 45, Prelude in C♯ minor

in FE1 (→EE)

in FE2

in GE

Our suggestion

..

In the main text we adopt the more precise indication of FE1 (→EE). The partially lacking dashes indicating the scope of crescendo in FE2 is certainly a result of the engraver's negligence. It is possible that their total absence in GE is also an error (cf. the remark concerning bars 55-58). According to us, both the earlier placement of crescendo in GE and the placement of the indication above the upper stave in FE (→EE) may have resulted from the lack of space between the staves.

b. 67

composition: Op. 45, Prelude in C♯ minor

 in FE (→EE1)

Two 's in EE2

Our suggestion

..

Considering the indication crescendo in bars 63-66, various placement of the  mark in FE and GE must be considered as relevant. Not being sure whether the place of the sign in GE really follows the notation of the autograph, in the main text we move  between the stave (it does not change its operating area). In EE2 the indications of FE (→EE1) and GE were compilated.
