The 
sign is present only in GE and EE2 (in the latter it was probably adopted from GE). In this type of contexts Chopin generally omitted the sign at the end of a piece, while the publishers often added it. Therefore, we consider that the asterisk in GE may not be authentic and we propose a variant solution.
