Issues : Accidentals in different octaves
b. 14-15
|
composition: Op. 39, Scherzo in C♯ minor
..
The lowering e1 to e flat 1 is missing from both bars in GC and FE1. This obvious inaccuracy was corrected in GE and FE2. The flat occurring in EE in bar 15 may also be part of the reviser's corrections (bar 14 in EE has no relevant note). category imprint: Source & stylistic information issues: Accidentals in different octaves , GE revisions , FE revisions |

b. 95
|
composition: Op. 39, Scherzo in C♯ minor
..
We consider the version with the octave D sharp-d sharp to be the main one, as none of the sources that could be based on the autograph (GC, EE, FE1) has naturals. Still, omission of those accidentals is very probable in that context, so the version of FE2 (D-d) could actually be the one intended by Chopin. To make things clear, we notate the version D sharp-d sharp with cautionary accidentals.
