Slurs
b. 296-306
|
composition: Op. 39, Scherzo in C♯ minor
..
In GC (→GE) the slurs end in bars 298 and 306, respectively. For our main text we take the consistent slurring of EE and FE which we consider more grounded in the sources and more justified from the musical point of view. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in GC |

b. 307-311
|
composition: Op. 39, Scherzo in C♯ minor
..
The slur in GC is clearly too long, especially at its end, which was corrected in GE. For the main text we have adopted complying versions of EE and FE. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: GE revisions , Inaccuracies in GC |

b. 312-315
|
composition: Op. 39, Scherzo in C♯ minor
..
The slurs in EE and GC (→GE) end in b. 314, and the slur in GE is placed below the chords (at the note heads). In the main text we present the slur found in FE as undoubtedly the correct one. Compare annotation in bars 296-306. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: GE revisions |

b. 315-319
|
composition: Op. 39, Scherzo in C♯ minor
..
The slurs in the sources exemplify the figuration beginning in RH on the third beat in b. 315 and in LH in b. 316 - see the next annotation. There are also no meaningful differences between them if we omit the imprecise notation of the slur's beginning in GC and arbitrarily added slur in LH in GE. We suggest to complete the figuration based on the corresponding places also with appropriate extention of the slur and retaining both slurring variants. category imprint: Editorial revisions; Source & stylistic information issues: Inaccuracies in GC |
