It is not clear what type of accent was used in A; it collides with the indication cresc., which makes it difficult to determine its shape. We consider a long accent to be more probable (cf. signs in the neighbouring bars). Omission of the accent mark in GE1 (→FE→EE) is definitely an error. The accent was put back in GE2 (→GE3), yet ascribing it to the L.H. chord seems unfortunate. category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources issues: Long accents , Errors in GE , GE revisions |

In A (→GE1→FE→EE), the triplet on the 2nd beat of the bar has an additional slur. We omit that slur in line with our General Editorial Principles, point 16. The slur is also absent from GE2 (→GE3). category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: GE revisions , Triplet slurs |

A long accent in A was reproduced in GE (→FE→EE) as a short one. in GE2 (→GE3) the mark is clearly written for the left hand part, which does not follow from the notation of A. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Long accents , GE revisions |

It is not entirely clear whether Chopin intended the accent in A to apply to the right hand, as was understood in GE1 (→FE→EE), or to both hands, which we consider more likely. Allocation of the accent to the left hand, as in GE2 (→GE3), is in our opinion a mistake. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: GE revisions |

In GE1 (→FE→EE) the dashes marking the extent of the dynamic change were omitted. In GE2 (→GE3) the dashes were put back, yet Chopin's abbreviation dim. was changed to dimin. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in GE , GE revisions |
