In  A, the dashes marking the extent of dim. appear only in bar 129. This may suggest limiting the binding scope of the dynamic change to that bar alone, which does not seem justified from the musical point of view considering the  in bar 131. In our opinion, inaccurate notation may be suspected here, and therefore we suggest adding the dashes in bar 130. In GE (→FEEE) the dashes were omitted entirely, a frequent error found in the editions. In GE2 (→GE3) Chopin's dim. was replaced with the equivalent abbreviation dimin.

Over this entire section in A the asterisks  are placed at the very end of each bar after the 3rd crotchet of the L.H. (with the exception of bar 138) and this is definitely the only authentic notation. In GE that notation was reproduced only in bars 132-133 and 136; in the remaining bars the asterisks are placed before the 3rd crotchet. In FE only the  in bar 133 follows the notation of A, and EE has the asterisks after the 3rd crotchet in bars 132-133 only. Moreover, in EE1 (→EE2) the asterisk was mistakenly placed in bar 135 instead of 136, which was corrected in EE3.

 in A is placed before the last chord of the L.H. but after its initial deleted version. In the editors' opinion, when changing the notation of the chord Chopin failed to notice the consequent change of the spatial relation between that crotchet  and the . That is why in our main text we put the  after the 3rd crotchet. In GE (→FE) the sign was placed under the 3rd crotchet, and in EE even before it.

sempre rallentando in A

GE (→FEEE)

In our main text we give sempre rallentando, just like Chopin wrote it in A. In GE (→FEEE) the word sempre was placed earlier, at the beginning of the bar, and rallentando was replaced with the abbreviation rallent.
