The shape of the tie drawn from the last demisemiquaver d flat2 does not clearly indicate where that tie was supposed to end. As the only note of the R.H. struck at the beginning of bar 9 is the dotted crotchet d flat2, one has no other option but to assume that the tie was meant to finish there. Such an interpretation is confirmed by a more legible notation of analogous bars 36-37. Printed in GE (→FE) is only the initial part of the tie from bar 98, which is the last bar of the page in those editions. We assume that it has the same meaning as the one we have determined for the tie of A. In EE, the discontinued tie fragment from bar 98 was omitted. category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Inaccuracies in GE , Inaccurate slurs in A |

In GE1 (→FE→EE), the dashes defining the extent of the crescendo were omitted, which is surely a mistake. They were added back in GE2 (→GE3). category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in GE |

The asterisk , entered in A under the 3rd crotchet of the L.H. was placed after that crotchet in GE1 (→FE, GE2). In EE and GE3 the asterisk is placed more or less in accordance with A. In most analogous bars Chopin wrote before the 3rd crotchet, which - in our opinion - may be considered an alternative interpretation of A also for the discussed bar. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in GE |

In A, Chopin entered a staccato dot on the 2nd beat of the bar, quite far from the note it was meant to refer to; this was probably why the dot was omitted from GE1 (→FE→EE). It was supplemented in GE2 (→GE3). category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in GE |

in A is written after the accent, yet still in bar 104. A comparison with similar bars suggests Chopin's inaccurate notation probably caused by lack of free space for entering the fortissimo under the octave f2-f3. In GE1 (→FE→EE), was placed at the beginning of bar 105. In our opinion, Chopin's notation was correctly interpreted in GE2 (→GE3). category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in GE , GE revisions |
