One may wonder whether the two slurs of A do not actually form one slur, as the second seems to continue the line of the first one. A single slur in the analogous bar 44 is another argument in favour of that hypothesis, However, there are also arguments against it:
- in the first slur one can see the halting of the moving hand that initially intended to embrace the entire bar with the slur;
- the accent on the 1st note of the triplet indicates that it is more prominently articulated in the course of the melodic line in that bar.
