In A, the asterisk 
is written at the end of the bar, after the 3rd crotchet of the left hand. The mark was omitted in GE1, and in FE (→EE) placed under the 3rd crotchet. In this case it is hard to tell whether it was Chopin's correction or the editor's revision – the mark was put where most asterisks were placed in those editions. Cf. Mazurka in g Op. 24 no. 1, bars 49-50, 58.
