a1 in A (→GE) and EE3

c2 in FE (→EE1EE2)

GE1 bears the traces of a massive correction of the R.H. part in this bar. The changes definitely covered the direction of the stems, beams, the slur, and most probably also note pitch. As the result of those corrections tallies with the version of A, the initial text printed in GE1 must have contained serious errors. The exact scope and course of that correction is difficult to determine, yet it is not unlikely that a proof copy of GE1, sent as a base text for FE, contained a not fully corrected version, which is reflected by the error in FE (→EE1EE2). The correct version of EE3 is most probably the effect of comparison with the finished GE1.
