FE (→EE), contextual interpretation

In A (→GE) Chopin basically repeated here the version of the analogous bars 18-19 and 50-51. He only added a wedge on the 2nd beat of bar 103 (reproduced in GE as a stac­cato dot). When correcting FE (→EE), the composer diversified the last repetition of this eight-bar phrase (bars 97-104) by adding one note to the melodic line of each of the dis­cussed bars, as well as earlier in bar 98.

As far as pitch and rhythm are concerned, the text of the FE (→EE) version does not give rise to any doubts, yet the notation of slurs is inaccurate. The short slurs of the version of A (→GE) were replaced with one two-bar slur over the R.H. part, and it is not quite clear whether that slur ends on the last quaver of bar 103 or whether it continues further. In bar 104 (in a new line) we see the end section of a slur situated under the notes and reaching e1, which is probably a remaining fragment of the f1-e1 slur.  In our opinion, in spite of all those inaccuracies the intention of Chopin seems clear: to have a slur over the melodic voice embracing the entire quaver group in bars 102-103 plus the final crotchet in bar 104.
