In many places in the Sonata, Chopin's intention regarding one-, two- or three-part notation, as well as assigning notes to respective voices, is unclear, while the very notation – most probably inaccurate. An example thereof is provided by a fragment of mov. IV, bars 114-115, in which the b1-g2 sixth at the beginning of bar 114 could be deemed written using two-part writing, in the f
1-d2 sixth in the 2nd half of the bar both notes could be considered crotchets, while in the g1-b
1 third in bar 115 both notes seem to belong to the bottom quaver voice. All the above examples are probably accidental and inaccurate, since the remaining dyads do not confirm this type of writing.
In the discussed bars the extended bottom dyad notes, omitted in GE (→FE,EE,IE), were undoubtedly intended by Chopin, and in the main text we reproduce them after A.
