b. 73-77
|
composition: (Op. 4), Sonata in C minor, Mvt II
..
In bar 73, 75 and 77, in the main text we omit the slurs being part of the triplet markings – cf. General Editorial Principles, p. 16. In this case, there are no doubts that this is the only function of these slurs, which is confirmed by the staccato marking in bar 77. category imprint: Editorial revisions issues: Triplet slurs |

b. 75-76
|
composition: (Op. 4), Sonata in C minor, Mvt II
..
When interpreted literally, the A slur must be inaccurate – unfinished – as many other slurs in this manuscripts (cf., e.g. mov. I, bars 182-183 or mov. IV, bars 350-351). At the same time, it does not matter whether we regard it as reaching d or c. Therefore, one can understand why the GE engraver did not include this slur (unless it was a mere oversight). In the main text we suggest a slur modelled after analogous bars 73-74. category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: Inaccurate slurs in A , Errors in GE |

b. 76
|
composition: (Op. 4), Sonata in C minor, Mvt II
..
The slurs added in GE (→FE,IE) after analogous bar 74 can be considered justified. However, as the presence or absence of these slurs is only one of a few differences between bars 73-74 and 75-76 present in A, in the main text we do not include this addition. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Errors in EE , GE revisions |
