The FE slur was printed inaccurately – it clearly starts before the crotchet in bar 33, but not before the bar line, hence in GE and EE it does not include the upbeat. A comparison with the slur over the repetition of this phrase in bars 34-36 proves that this interpretation is wrong. Slurs starting from the upbeat appear also in the opera's original score, both in the orchestral introduction and the solo part.
