The three-note chords present in FE (→EE) are much more likely here, since they prepare and open the chordal sequence in bars 129-132. The FC version almost certainly resulted from the copyist's carelessness, who did not take care of the visibility of the notes written on the ledger line. This is indicated by the notation of the first two chords in bar 129, in which it is also the e1 notes that are practically imperceptible, although their presence is unquestionable. In GE1 it was also c1 in bar 128 that was overlooked, in spite of the presence of this note having been marked in FC. The notes overlooked in GE1 were added in GE2, perhaps on the basis of a comparison with FE. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: GE revisions , Uncertain notes on ledger lines , Errors of FC |

In this chromatic progression, the notation of the sources does not contain any mistakes, and Chopin took care of a few cautionary accidentals – to g1-b1 at the beginning of bar 130, to g1 in bar 131 and to d1-f1 in bar 132. In the main text we also add naturals to e in bar 130 and to B and a in bar 132. The latter were also added by GE (a to B) and EE (a to a). category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions; Source & stylistic information issues: EE revisions , GE revisions , Cautionary accidentals |

The division of the slur in FC falls on such unnatural place that one could assume a misunderstanding in the reading of [A], e.g. caused by the transition into a new line in the autograph. Due to the above, in the main text we give the slur of FE, more reliable in this context. category imprint: Differences between sources |

Chopin added to FC (→GE1). It was removed in GE2, perhaps due to a misunderstanding during revision – see the adjacent note. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations; Source & stylistic information issues: Errors resulting from corrections , Errors in GE , Authentic corrections of FC |

The four long accents were added to FC by Chopin. In GE1 the first one was overlooked; it is also absent in GE2, in which the adjacent was removed too. It may mean that there was an attempt to add an accent, which required to be moved; however, the correction remained unfinished. As accents are also in FE, Chopin most probable wrote them there while proofreading this edition. Reducing marks to the form of common, short accents is frequent in EE and other first editions of Chopin's works. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Long accents , Errors in GE , EE inaccuracies |
