Slurs
b. 25-28
|
composition: Op. 30, Mazurka in D♭ major
..
The slurring of the first phrase in this section is inaccurate or erroneous both in FC and FE. It concerns particularly FC, in which, when interpreted literally, the slurs are unclear and almost certainly incomplete. The slurring of FE can be easily guessed, as a result of which a corrected version of this slurring is already present in EE; in this situation, it is the version we give in the main text. category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Inaccuracies in FE , GE revisions , Errors of FC , Inaccuracies in FC , Uncertain slur continuation |

b. 40-41
|
composition: Op. 30, Mazurka in D♭ major
..
In FC the initial fragment of the slur, over bar 40, was added probably by Chopin. Therefore, we regard this version as a Chopinesque improvement and give it in the main text. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Authentic corrections of FC |

b. 75-76
|
composition: Op. 30, Mazurka in D♭ major
..
It is difficult to say how the difference in slurring occurred. Both versions seem musically equal. In the main text we give the version of the principal source, FC. category imprint: Differences between sources |

b. 94-95
|
composition: Op. 30, Mazurka in D♭ major
..
The R.H. slur, present in this form in all sources, proves that, in spite of the change of mode and dynamics, Chopin associated the last bar with the preceding phrase. Due to the above, we give preference to the L.H. slur in FE (→EE), implementing the same idea. category imprint: Differences between sources |
