The single-voice notation of the 1st chord in bars 26 and 28 in JC and EF is probably inaccurate: the notation of JC in bars 25 and 27 is a proof that Chopin did not precisely determine the bass note's extensions in [AI]. In the main text we give the notation of PE in both bars in the form used in bar 26; it guarantees a consistent division into voices, in which the two-note chords struck on strong beats of bars 25-26 have the value of quavers. Cf. bar 30.

As the 2nd quaver in bar 26, JC features the most probably erroneous a1. See the note related to the 4th quaver of that bar.

Quaver in JC & PE

Crotchet in EF

In JC and PE, the entire 1st chord of the bar is written as a quaver (on one stem). The comparison of the notation with the one of analogous bars 26 and 28 leads to an argument confirming the correctness of the double-voice notation of EF, which we give in the main text.

Five  signs in those bars are present only in PE. We recreate them in the main text, yet we slightly change their position, as without any doubt, their range must remain in a legible relation to the ascending demisemiquaver motifs.

The sign of accent, visible only in PE, is reversed to the left. Therefore, its way of interpretation is not entirely clear. In the main text we propose an interpretation assuming an error of the sign's reversal.

In the previous sources, a similar version to the version of analogous bar 11 (JC) or the same one (EF) is written out. In the main text we give the clearly different version of PE, repeated from bar 11 (bar 38 is the first one out of the ones marked as Dal Segno).

In JC, it is the deletion of the note on the 3rd beat of the bar that draws our attention, made in a way known from Chopin's corrections in pupils' copies.
