Issues : Triplet slurs
b. 28
|
composition: Op. 24 No. 4, Mazurka in B♭ minor
..
The extra slur over the triplet in A was omitted in GE (→FE→EE). In the context, that slur is just part of the triplet marking and we do not take it into consideration (cf. General Editorial Principles, point 16). category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: Triplet slurs |

b. 30-31
|
composition: Op. 24 No. 1, Mazurka in G minor
..
The first slur in bar 31 serves a double purpose in A (→GE): it is part of the triplet marking and at the same time it defines its articulation. When correcting FE (→EE), Chopin included a longer fragment of the phrase under the slur, and therefore the initial triplet slur lost its motivic and articulative meaning. In this situation we omit that slur, considering its preservation to be an inaccuracy of correction (cf. General Editorial Principles, point 16). category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Authentic corrections of FE , Triplet slurs |

b. 48
|
composition: Op. 25 No 11, Etude in A minor
..
In the main text we preserve the additional slur under the quaver triplet, in spite of the fact that it probably indicates only the use of an irregular group. However, Chopin did not mark it clearly, as in GC, FE and EE the '3' digit is absent. In this situation each of these three versions of source notation can be considered as justified (cf. General Editorial Principles, p. 16). category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: GE revisions , Triplet slurs |

b. 48
|
composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt I
..
The slur in GC is a typical "triplet" slur. Embracing with it the entire bar in GE is most probably a revision inspired by the slur in bar 44. However, the identical slur in FE (→EE) can be a result of Chopin's correction in [A]. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Triplet slurs |

b. 50
|
composition: Op. 10 No 12, Etude in C minor
..
In this and further, analogous bars Chopin provided the part of the R.H. only with the slurs embracing particular triplets (cf. General Editorial Principles, p. 16). As in FE the slurs were replaced with phrase marks in a few places (bars 52, 56 and 60), we also introduce a relevant change here. The slur was already extended in GE3 (→GE4). category imprint: Interpretations within context; Editorial revisions issues: Triplet slurs |
