The division of the slur in GE results from an erroneous interpretation of the slightly inaccurate notation of FE – the slur in bar 625, the last one in a line of text, suggests continuation with its shape but not range. However, the slur in bar 626 leaves no doubts that it is a continuous slur.

In FED one can see two diagonal lines, written with a flourish. Their significance remains a mystery, although one of them could be interpreted as a mark emphasising the meaningful coherence of the chords in these bars.

For the main text we adopt the scope of  hairpins based on GC (→GE). In EE they are a little shorter, which may be treated as a parallel, slightly different version. A clearly earlier ending of the mark in FE seems less accurate, and moreover, according to an out-of-date convention the continuation of crescendo in b. 627, starting a new line, was marked with new  hairpins.
