Issues : Wedges
b. 30-31
|
composition: Op. 10 No 11, Etude in E♭ major
..
In the main text we give the wedges with which Chopin provided all first chords in bars 30-31 (and in 32). In the editions all marks were inaccurately reproduced as staccato dots, which was frequent at the time of interpreting Chopin's manuscripts. Cf. also bars 16-23, 25 and 27-29. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in FE , Wedges |

b. 31
|
composition: Op. 39, Scherzo in C♯ minor
..
Staccato signs in that bar and analogous ones occur very irregularly in the sources. For that reason we do not derive from them any general rule to be applied to similar places in the text. In this bar EE and FE have no sings. The wedge that can be seen in GC was reproduced in GE as a dot; another dot was added for the L.H. Cf. bar 113. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in GE , GE revisions , Wedges |

composition: Op. 10 No 2, Etude in A minor

The wedge written in Ap is most probably a part of Chopin's quest for an accurate way of writing down this chord – cf. the adjacent remark. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Wedges |
