A cross-cutting description of EE2 in the entire Op. 28 is to be found in the Prelude in C no. 1. In the Prelude in D EE2 introduced small amendments to the text of EE1:
- a crotchet stem was added to the a quaver in b. 7, 22 and 78;
- a cautionary was added before f2 in b. 13; the necessary accidentals in b. 75 were also added;
- the long grace note in b. 39 and 55 was changed to a short one.
A number of revisions were introduced on the basis of a comparison with GE1, e.g. f1 changed to an e1-f1 second in b. 17, added in b. 43 (it can also concern some of the aforementioned changes).
In the 2nd half of b. 19 additional crotchet stems were added to the g and a quavers. The source of that change, compliant with the annotations in two teaching copies coming from Chopin, remains elusive.
The copy presented in mUltimate Chopin dates from around 1868, as indicated by the content of title pages in similar copies* (the title page of the displayed copy is not extant).
