b. 20

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt II

Short accent in FE (→GE,EE)

Long accent suggested by the editors

..

A long, locally topmost note is a typical place for a long accent, a mark Chopin would use most often. Therefore, supposing an inaccurate reproduction of the notation by the engraver of FE, in the main text we suggest a long accent.

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt II

No marks in FE (→GE,EE)

Dots in FED

Our variant suggestion

..

The staccato dots over the last two quavers were added in FED; most probably by Chopin.

b. 23

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt II

..

The traces of changes to print, visible in FE, prove that the grace note was initially printed – most probably by mistake – at the pitch of f1.

b. 23

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt II

..

In FE, the part of the L.H. is misaligned with the R.H. in the 2nd half of the bar – the last quaver, f, falls already under the dotted quaver c3. The inaccuracy was corrected in GE and EE, whereas the mark indicating the right synchronization is written in FEH
