b. 139

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt I

 in A

 & dot in GE & EE2 (→EE3)

Dot in FE (→EE1)

..

The omission of the mordent in FE (→EE1) is certainly a mistake – it is hard to imagine that Chopin could have not noticed the remaining mistakes while possibly removing the ornament. However, it should be emphasised that in FED Chopin did not add , in spite of having corrected two other mistakes in the 1st half of the bar. The sign was added in EE2 (→EE3), probably after GE1. The staccato dot present in the sources is a result of a mistake of GE1 – see the note above.

b. 151-153

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt I

2 times  in A (→GE)

The  signs, present in bars 151 and 153 in A (→GE), are the original version of notation of these ornaments. In analogous bars 155 and 157, Chopin already used mordents; what is more, in the proofreading of FE he changed  to  also in bar 151 (most probably he wanted to do it in bar 153 too, yet the engraver of FE must have deleted , but forgot to insert ). EE repeated  after FE in bar 151 and added  – by analogy – in bar 153.

The  sign, present in GE instead of  written in A, is a mistake, corrected then by Chopin in FE (→EE).

b. 179

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt I

..

Instead of the trill –  – present in A (→GE), FE (→EE1) has an octave sign (8- - -). The striking error was corrected by Chopin in FED. The correct version was restored also in EE2 (→EE3), probably on the basis of comparison with GE1

b. 179-180

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt I

..

GE1 (→FEEE, →GE2) overlooked the wavy lines, emphasising the necessity of trilling during the entire value of the note.
