b. 51-53

composition: Op. 10 No 9, Etude in F minor

No fingering in AI & A

Fingering in FE (→GE)

..

Chopin added the fingering while proofreading FE (→GE). In EE Fontana completed it in bars 51 and 53. The digit added at the end of bar 51 does not stem from Chopin's indications.

b. 51-67

composition: Op. 10 No 9, Etude in F minor

..

In AI there are no performance indications (apart from the slur in bar 56 and accents in bars 61 and 63, which we discuss separately) from bar 37 (on this page from bar 51). As a result of this, we do not consider this version as an alternative to the remaining sources and we do not discuss it in detailed notes.

Pedalling in FE (→GE,EE)

All pedalling in these bars was added by Chopin in a proofreading of FE (→GE,EE). See also bars 64-65.

Lack of the  raising d1 to d1 is a patent inaccuracy of the notation of A (→FEEE3). The sign was added in GE and EE4.
