No lower octaves in CLI

Octaves in FE (→GE,EE

The version of CLI is undoubtedly earlier and less developed. In FE (→EE), and partially also in GE1 and GE2 (→GE3), the octaves in the L.H. are written in an abbreviated form.

b3 in CLI & EE

The b3 note on the last semiquaver in CLI is probably the original version of this place. The same note in EE may be a result of the editorial edition. However, in both cases errors cannot be entirely excluded. Cf. bar 5.

composition: Op. 10 No 1, Etude in C major

In the sources there is a number of discrepancies in the notation of accidentals. They result from unnamed and changing over the time rules concerning the accidentals' validity and they do not influence the interpretation of the text. The layout of the accidentals adopted in the main text is present in GE4 (→GE5).
