In GE1, the text of FE1 was reproduced with a number of inaccuracies (such as the omission of staccato dots) and with certain changes and additions, generally made on the basis of comparing analogous places (e.g. extended slurs in bars 46 and 50). In some situations it is not obvious whether the versions of EE1 result from the engraver's inaccurate rendition of the text or from revisions (for instance replacement of long accents with short ones in bar 16 and 18). Chopin did not participate in the preparation of that edition.
EE1 has most of the typical features of Wessel's publications: notation of grace notes and minims or an arbitrarily added title.
