b. 297

composition: Op. 2, Variations, complete

..

In the main text we omit the  to e1 in the 3rd semiquaver triplet, unnecessarily repeated in the sources. In A one can see that initially there was also a  in the 5th triplet, from which, however, it was removed. By contrast, we leave the reminder  to d2 in the 4th triplet, since d3, occurring a moment later, may raise doubts as to the sound of this note.

b. 298-300

composition: Op. 2, Variations, complete

..

In R.H. figurations Chopin considers accidentals to be valid also in adjacent octaves. Therefore, in A there are no flats to the 9th, 12th and 15th semiquavers in bar 298 (a2, d3, g3), the 14th semiquaver in bar 299 (d3) and the 2nd and 18th semiquavers in bar 300 (d1, c1). All necessary flats were added already in GE (→FE,EE).
There are more accidentals in #ApI than in A, both necessary (3rd, 4th and 6th among those mentioned above, with the omitted flats to d2 in bar 299 and to a1 in bar 300), and unnecessarily repeated ones (flats to g2 at the end of bar 298 and to c2 on the 3rd beat of bar 300, and also a  to a2 in bar 299), as well as a cautionary  to a1 in bar 299).

b. 299

composition: Op. 2, Variations, complete

..

In the main text we add cautionary naturals to g1a1 in the R.H. and to aA in the L.H. AsI contains two of them, before a1 and A, while  to a was also added by FE1 (→FE2) and EE3. All the aforementioned accidentals are present in GE3.

b. 301

composition: Op. 2, Variations, complete

..

The cautionary natural specifying the sound of the 2nd semiquaver was added in the stage of proofreading FE1 (→FE2), probably at Chopin's request. It is worth noting that it was only in the editions that a clear need for this accidental manifested itself, in which the last semiquaver in the previous bar is provided with a flat – in A there is no accidental to any of these notes.

b. 302

composition: Op. 2, Variations, complete

..

In GE1 (→FE1,EE,GE2GE3,FESB) there is no  restoring d at the beginning of the 3rd beat of the bar. The patent mistake – the absence of this accidental also impacts the sound of the last L.H. semiquaver, resulting in a combo of d1 in the R.H. and d in the L.H. – was noticed only in FE2.
