composition: Op. 2, Variations, complete

Neither AsI nor A contains the flats restoring B-b on the penultimate semiquaver in the bar. Due to the analogy with bar 240, it must be Chopin's oversight. The accidental (one was enough, since the octaves were written down in an abridged manner) was added by GE (→FE,EE,FESB). See also bar 244.

b. 243-244

composition: Op. 2, Variations, complete

..

In the main text we add cautionary flats to E-e in bar 243 and to e-e1 in bar 244, not included in any of the sources of the version for one piano. However, the accidentals are in the bassoon part of AsI, and the first one is also in the double basses and in the cellos.

In GE3 the  raising f2 to f2 in the first chord was overlooked.

composition: Op. 2, Variations, complete

None of the sources includes accidentals before the last octave except GE3, in which a  restoring c-c1 was added (due to the use of con 8va, one accidental was enough). In this context, Chopin's mistake is obvious.

composition: Op. 2, Variations, complete

In AsI there is no  restoring f in the penultimate semiquaver, which is a patent mistake, committed also in the bassoon part of this manuscript (but not in the cellos or the double basses). A and the remaining sources have the correct text.
