No slur in AI & GE

Slur in FE (→EE)

Our alternative suggestion

The missing slur in AI is probably an inadvertence – both bars stand out due to the total absence of articulation indications (staccatos, slurs). On the other hand, the absence of the slur in GE may – as in the previous bar – indicate that this slur was added in the last stage of proofreading FE1 (unless it is a mistake by the engraver).
A comparison with similar motifs in the entire Mazurka suggests a possible inaccuracy, as far as its starting point is concerned, which justifies our alternative suggestion.
