The  marking present in FE (→EE) instead of the authentic  indication must have resulted from the engraver's carelessness – see the Prelude in E minor no. 14.

4 slurs in A (→FC) & EE2

Slurs in b. 1, 2, 6 in FE

Slurs in b. 1, 2, 5 in GE

Slur in b. 6 in EE1

..

None of the editions based on manuscripts reproduced all 4 slurs over the pairs of chords in bars 1-2 and 5-6. EE1 overlooked yet 2 out of 3 slurs in FE. The complete set of slurs in EE2 results from a compilation of the slur of EE1 with the slurs reproduced from GE1.

R.H. wedges in A

4 staccato dots in FC (→GE) & EE

3 dots in FE

4 wedges suggested by the editors

..

In this bar Chopin again marked the articulation of the chords only over the R.H. part. As the performance cannot differ from the one in b. 13-14, in the main text we add marks also under the L.H. chords. Such a solution was adopted both by FC (→GE) and FE (→EE).
In FE, the missing mark for the 1st R.H. chord must be an oversight of the engraver.
Both FC (→GE) and FE (→EE) interpreted the marks of A as staccato dots. Although they are not as pronounced as those in b. 9-12 or 14 (the R.H. mark), we consider them to be wedges.

2 long accents & staccato dot in A

Long accent in FC

Short accent in L.H. in FE1

Short & long accents in FE2

Short accent in GE

Vertical & long accent in EE

..

In the main text we reproduce the very precise performance marks for the chord on the 2nd beat of the bar in A: long accents over f4 and the L.H. chord and a staccato dot under f3. The R.H. marks were overlooked both in FC (→GE) and FE1, which is justified to a certain extent, since both marks are poorly visible. The L.H. accent (short) was placed in FE under the chord, as a result of which the R.H. octave is not accented at all. FE2 tried to amend it by adding a long accent under it. Introduction of a vertical accent in EE is an arbitrary decision typical of that publisher – cf. the previous bar.
