Before the 7th semiquaver in A there was initially a  (cautionary due to B(1) in the L.H.), which Chopin turned to a . Fontana and the engraver of FE1 misinterpreted that correction by considering it a deletion of the accidental, hence FC (→GE) and FE1 does not contain any accidental before that note, which gives b1. When the figure is repeated an octave higher (at the beginning of b. 23) in FC (→GE), there is also no , which can be explained by an oversight (it would be a puzzling coincidence!) or by a revision, introduced in the belief that it is also here that the alleged crossing-out from b. 22 should be taken into account.
In both places, the naturals visible over the notes were added in FC by H. Scholtz probably in the 1870s.

In A (→FE1,FCGE1) there are no flats restoring e2 in these bars, which is Chopin's patent inadvertence. The accidentals were added in EE (both), FE2 (only in b. 26) and GE2 (only in b. 27).

In FC (→GE), Fontana wrote one pair of signs ( ) more than in A – most probably a mistake. The absence of pedalling in FE1 is undoubtedly an oversight by the engraver. The markings were added in FE2 (→EE), however, the notation of A was not exactly reproduced.

The absence of a  must be Chopin's oversight (this bar is written in A at the end of the line, which promotes inaccuracies). In the main text we suggest adding the mark analogously to the 1st half of the bar, since the authenticity of the  mark added in FC (→GE) and FE (→EE) at the end of the bar is questionable.
