In the main text we include the fingering entered by Chopin into FES, confirmed by an equivalent entry in FED, also Chopinesque. Nothing indicates that the fingering of EE could be authentic. What is more, a mistake was most probably committed in b. 8 – in the middle of the bar, the b-a notes should be, apparently, played with the fingers 2-1, as they were in the previous bar, in an analogous place. The inauthentic fingering of EE most probably contains a mistake in b. 25 – it should be the 1st and not the 2nd finger on the 3rd semiquaver.
