b. 81-88
|
composition: Op. 50 No. 3, Mazurka in C♯ minor
..
There is no slur over b. 81-88, written in the margin of AF. It is probably Chopin's oversight, although it is also likely that the composer was afraid that a slur could have hampered the interpretation of the notation on the added staves (by hand). Anyway, there is no doubt that the added fragment was also supposed to be included in the slur encompassing b. 80 and 89, written on the main staves. category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources issues: Inaccurate slurs in A , Errors resulting from corrections |

b. 87
|
composition: Op. 50 No. 3, Mazurka in C♯ minor
..
The version of AI with triads is the original one, left almost certainly by inadvertence. Its traces can also be seen in AF, in which, however, Chopin changed both chords – differently than in all analogous bars – to sixths. According to us, the change of the chord on the 3rd beat of the bar could have been a mistake; therefore, in the main text we give the unequivocal version of GE, which is compliant with the remaining analogous places. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Corrections in A , Errors resulting from corrections , Deletions in A , Accompaniment changes |

b. 134-136
|
composition: Op. 50 No. 3, Mazurka in C♯ minor
..
In b. 134 and 136, the Chopinesque manner of writing stems always on the right-hand side of the noteheads contributed to an incomprehensible reproduction of the two-part notation of AF by the engraver of FE and, consequently, the totally erroneous notation of EE. In the main text we give the simplest and probably the latest notation introduced by Chopin in [AG] (→GE). category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations; Source & stylistic information issues: EE revisions , Inaccuracies in FE , Corrections in A , Errors resulting from corrections , FE revisions , Inaccuracies in A , Partial corrections |
