Issues : Omitted correction of an analogous place

b. 30-31

composition: Op. 50 No. 3, Mazurka in C♯ minor

No slur in AI & AF (→FEEE)

Slur in GE

..

The b1-c2 slur probably originates from a later completion of the manuscripts' notation, which is indicated by a comparison with analogous b. 122-123. Chopin most likely added a slur here only in [AG] (→GE) and the second time – only in AF (→FEEE). Such complementary corrections suggest that there was a stage – probably short – in which both autographs were being retouched in parallel.

b. 45-55

composition: Op. 50 No. 3, Mazurka in C♯ minor

..

In b. 45, 47, 48 and 53-55, there are visible traces of corrections of the chords on the 2nd or 3rd beat of the bar in AI. In each case Chopin removed one note from the originally written f-b-d1 triad – in b. 45, 47, 53 and 55 and d1 in b. 48 and 54.

Two-bar long pedal in AF (→FEEE)

2 pedals in GE

..

The pedalling of AF (→FEEE) was deliberate at the time when it was being written – Chopin crossed out the  at the end of b. 46. However, he did not repeat this version in any of the analogous pairs of bars (b. 54-55, 78-79 and 86-87), which may mean that he then forwent the two-bar pedal in those places. Therefore, in the main text we give the pedalling of the principal source, i.e. GE.

b. 103-104

composition: Op. 50 No. 3, Mazurka in C♯ minor

Pedalling in AF (→FEEE)

Pedalling in GE

..

The shorter pedal of AF is the original version, left here most probably by inadvertence (b. 103 opens the page) – in analogous b. 11-12 Chopin changed this pedalling in AF to the one featured here in GE.
In FE (→EE) the  mark was placed slightly earlier, which is irrelevant in this case.

Slur in AF (→FEEE)

No slur in GE

The missing b1-c2 slur in GE is probably Chopin's inadvertence at the time of performing the last retouches of [AG]
