  b. 62-63

A repeated in A1 & GE

A  tied in FE (→EE)

Our variant suggestion

The tie of A was added by Chopin in the last stage of proofreading of FE. In the main text we include it in a variant form, since the same place was completed differently in the proofreading of GE (or in [A2]), i.e. Chopin added there arpeggios at the beginning of b. 63. Therefore, it is likely that holding A (and pedal, see the note in b. 63) is one way to perform this fragment, while arpeggios – another one. The same applies to b. 78-79.
