b. 45

composition: Op. 50 No. 1, Mazurka in G major

..

In A1 (→FE) there is no  lowering e1 to e1. It is a result of inattention at the time of performing corrections in this autograph: originally, it was a crotchet featuring e1 alongside the necessary  that was on the 1st beat in the R.H. bottom voice. Chopin did not control the notation of accidentals after he had replaced it with a rest. The sign was added in EE; it is also in GE, which could also be explained by an editorial revision.

b. 76-77

composition: Op. 50 No. 1, Mazurka in G major

Tie to b in A1

Slur d1-b in FE (→EE)

No tie in GE

Our variant suggestion

..

It is difficult to say whether the absence of the tie of b in GE means that Chopin abandoned the idea of holding that note or whether it is a result of an oversight of the engraver or of Chopin himself. Due to the above reason we suggest a variant solution with the tie in brackets.
In FE (→EE) the tie was misinterpreted as a slur combining the d1 crotchet in b. 76 with the bottom note of the chord at the beginning of b. 77. As all other ties, written in A1 in the same manner, typical of Chopin, were reproduced in FE correctly, the mistake could have been provoked by the fact that b. 76 was written in A1 on a stave above (due to deletions).

b. 84-85

composition: Op. 50 No. 1, Mazurka in G major

d tied in A1 & GE

repeated in FE (→EE)

..

The reason for the omission of the tie of d by FE (→EE) could have been the deletions of A1 at the beginning of b. 85. The fragment of the slur falling on that bar was deleted, and Chopin did not repeat that fragment on the rewritten – on a staff below – 1st beat of the bar.
