b. 9-33

composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor

..

The entire second line of A is missing the octave signs – there is no ending of the sign in bar 9 and an entire one is missing in b. 14-17. There is a similar case in b. 31-33, in which the transition into a new line provoked a mistake in the form of an unfinished octave sign, which began in bar 30. Fontana noticed and corrected only the latter, yet in FC an octave sign was added in pencil also in b. 14-17, probably by the engraver of GE1 (we do not take into account that addition in the transcription of FC, since it belongs rather to GE1). In the editions all mistakes were corrected, in FE perhaps by Chopin's orders, who proofread that edition.

b. 209

composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor

..

A is missing the  raising g2 to g2. The patent inaccuracy was corrected both in FC (→GE) and FE (→EE). It is difficult to say conclusively who entered the  into FC, Chopin or Fontana. In turn, a diagonal cross, in pencil, visible in this place in A means that the missing mark was already noticed by the engraver of FE, as long as the mark comes from the time the Scherzo was published.

b. 262

composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor

..

There is no octave sign over the R.H. minim in A (→FEEE1). The patent mistake (particularly after comparing it with b. 130) was corrected in FC (→GE), probably by Fontana's hand, as well as in EE2 (→EE3).

b. 445

composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor

There is no  raising d to d in A (→FEEE1). Chopin's patent inaccuracy was corrected by Fontana in FC (→GE); a  was also added in EE2 (→EE3).

b. 469-471

composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor

..

There is no accidental before the last note in b. 469 and before the penultimate one in b. 471 in A. This patent inaccuracy was corrected by Fontana in FC (→GE). Initially, both bars were deprived of the marks in FE; moreover, in b. 469 the discussed note was printed an octave too high (perhaps considering the use of an octave sign). That version was passed on to EE1, which added only the  in b. 471. In FE in the last phase of proofreading the note in b. 469 was moved to the right pitch, adding a  next to it, yet the mark in b. 471 was not added. In EE2 (→EE3) the pitch of the last note in b. 469 was corrected in accordance with the logic of the passage's structure, yet the  was not added.
